Do you find yourself regularly getting up in the middle of the night for the toilet? Needing to go for a pee soon after you’ve just been?

And every time you put your key in the front door does it become a race to the toilet? OR maybe you feel you can’t be too far away from a toilet when you are out shopping?.

Now having made sure you get the all clear you may want to use some simple techniques to train and calm down your (automatic) autonomic  nervous system. which has been getting stuck in a loop of “Fight or Flight”. The mind worries, the body tenses up. All we can do is prepare to “run or fight” meaning our primal brain needs to ditch anything that will prevent us from winning the fight or escaping the danger.

Kegel physical exercises are often used to help the muscles control the bladder but if our brain and body  are stuck on high alert in these situations then we may not make a lot of progress in resolving the problem. Our sympathetic nervous system will continue“ looking out for tigers”!
