I’ve learned.

Monday, November 12th, 2007

If you Google “I’ve learned”you should get various versions of a poem I rather like or you can try this link at Indian Child You can continue to add whtever you like but I felt it worth adding “life does not always go the way or do the things that we want it to.”

How often do we feel frustrated or cheated that we didn’t get what we wanted, that we “missed out”, that “we deserved better” and how does that leave us feeling? It probably happens much more than we care to think but what is this sort of thinking doing to us? It builds up resentment, disappointment, frustration, and anger, all emotions that I would call toxic, and toxic emotions will drain our energy, warp our thinking and weaken our bodies diverting us from attaining our positive intentions.

Next time life doesn’t go the way you had thought it should why not try stepping back for a moment. Allow yourself to go with the flow. Acknowledge your feelings while allowing yourself to let them go. The feelings are natural but hanging on to them will not help. Learning from your experience and accepting will help you to “regroup” and use your energy in a much more positive and beneficial way.
